A 10-year project to restore an Avro Lancaster bomber was just begun when in September 2011, the museum's buildings were closed due to a decision to use the location for a hockey complex. Not open to the public. The showcase of the collection was a full scale replica of the Avro Arrow, constructed entirely at the museum by volunteers, some of whom actually worked on the real aircraft.
